I was disappointed that the wearing of masks was not taken seriously. At one point, all of the workers inside the office had no masks covering their noses or mouths. The great hypocrisy is that the sign on the entrance says masks must be worn. The final insult occurred when a service technician drove my car out to me after completing the work and was not wearing a mask. He was in my vehicle with no gloves and no mask. At no point did he disinfect my vehicle and simply smiled and said, "you're all good." I am afraid I am not as I will now be finding a new place for auto work. I would like to say that part of the disappointment is that I have never had any problems with the work you have done.
Dear Mr. Loehr, I am very sorry to hear about your negative experience in regards to the lack of safety measures that you experienced at our facility during this covid epidemic. I can assure you that at our facility we are attempting to do our very best to comply with state and local governing bodies in regards to covid-19 regulations. We regularly check and monitor the most current rules and regulations at (https://www.governor.pa.gov/covid-19/business-guidance/e) and have also contacted local authorities to find out what are acceptable practices for our employees and staff at Karch Auto. Signs are placed on doors requiring masks per state and local policies, and hand sanitizer is available at our counters for those customers who require it. We have screening devices to create a barrier between customer and consultant at our counters, and our staff is to wear a mask at all times while a customer is in the lobby, or while working with customers in a closer proximity. I will once again reinforce to all of the lobby staff that masks are required at all times, as this has been an adjustment for all of us, and sometimes it is difficult to remember to practice these new protocols, since it was never a part of our every day lives for decades. Karch auto also offers a courtesy disinfectant of the areas of the car that the advisor and technician may have come into contact with, but this is upon request only, as some customers due to health reasons cannot handle the cleaning chemicals used to disinfect a surface area, as they can cause rash's, allergic reactions, migraines, and other negative health side effects, or other customers flat out prefer to do it themselves with their products. This is why we do not perform the cleaning to cars as a mandatory practice. We do regularly clean the surface countertops in the lobby with an organic disinfectant to comply with state requirements, as well as frequent hand washing. Upon our last converstion with local authorities, our technicians are not mandated to wear a mask or gloves while in the shop working on a vehicle, as they can maintain a safe 6ft social distancing, or transporting it in the parking lot, and all of our technicians wash their hands and practice cleanliness anytime they prepare to enter a customers vehicle. Technicians must wear a mask anytime they enter the lobby, or cannot maintain a safe 6 ft social distancing from a customer. Karch Auto also offers a complete touchless transaction (upon request) that requires you only to drop off your vehicle, and pick up your vehicle from our parking lot. All transactions and communication can be done by phone or computer. Once again i apologize for any inconvenience in covid-19 safety that you experienced at our facility, we would be more than happy to provide you service in the future if you so desire, otherwise thank you for your patronage, and best of luck with finding a more suitable service facility to meet your needs. Thank you and have a great day!
