My PSU student took his older car to be inspected and was given an estimate of $3,100+ We brought the car to our local, trusted mechanic and the car only needed about $350 worth of work and we were told the majority of items on their list were complete bogus! Stay away - completely untrustworthy!!!
Good day Susan, we are sorry to hear that you are not satisfied with your most recent visit. I did review all the items that the technician stated failed for inspection and find no fault in his findings. You have 3 loose suspension/steering components (per pa, all suspension and steering components must be in safe operating condition) a tire that has the belts broken which could lead to a tire blowout, brake pads that are separating and other components in the brake system that are not operating as originally intended, and the rockers are rusted through in two locations which are considered by pa as part of the integral framework on a unibody car. While my personal opinion is that you would never be unsafe in your vehicle due to the rusted rockers at this time, we are bound by the guidelines of pa and this is what they are telling us to reject. If your mechanic decides to overlook these things then it is his prerogative and his license at risk if he chooses to do that, as well as to potentially put you in a position that you could be driving an unsafe vehicle. Here at Karch Auto we would rather have someone unhappy about the bill, rather than to put them in a position of being unsafe on the road. If you would have any further questions or concerns please feel free to reach out to us. We hope you have a great New Year and are safe.
